Dr. Michele Opper has been employed in the field of psychology since 1995 and has had extensive and varied work experience.
She worked as a school psychologist in grades K-12 in NYC and in an elementary school in Westchester county. In 2000, she became a consultant for several preschools and early intervention programs. During that time, Dr. Opper provided evaluations for children from birth through age five and became a specialist in the assessment and diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders. In addition, she supervised other psychologists in the areas of assessment and report writing and taught classes in child development at a community college in Westchester.
Dr. Opper received her Ph.D. in educational psychology, with a concentration in school psychology in 2003 from the Graduate and University center of the city of New York. She studied neuropsychology as well in her Ph.D. program and received extensive post-doctoral supervision in this area. She became a licensed psychologist in the state of NY in 2004 and in NJ in 2013. After pursuing a second language through studies in Spain and Mexico, Dr. Opper also obtained a license as a New York City bilingual (Spanish) school psychologist. Furthermore, she holds a permanent certificate to practice as a school psychologist in NY and NJ.
Dr. Opper currently resides in Bergen County, New Jersey with her husband and three children.
